The Fjord Link Frederikssund
The Fjord Link Frederikssund’s mission is defined in the Construction Act governing the new fjord crossing. The Fjord Link Frederikssund’s mandate is to construct the new bridge at Frederikssund, provide the necessary funding and collect payment for crossing Crown Princess Mary’s Bridge. The revenue will be used to repay the loans contracted for the construction of the bridge.
The Fjord Link Frederikssund is managed by a Board. The Danish Road Directorate assists the Board with the day-to-day management and is also the principal in connection with the construction project.
Bridge partially financed by the users
Crown Princess Mary’s Bridge is a toll bridge. The total budget for the Fjord Link Frederikssund is about DKK 2 billion. Approximately DKK 659.5 million (DKK 656.7 million in 2014 prices and a grant of DKK 2.8 million for preparation) are financed by the state, while the remainder will be financed through the toll paid by users.
The prices for crossing Crown Prince is Mary's Bridge were decided by the Board in 2018 and announced in May 2018. The agreed prices comply with the rates set out in the 2014 Construction Act.
Free flow payment system
The payment system for Crown Princess Mary's Bridge will be a so-called free-flow system and was chosen to make it easy for road users to cross the bridge. This system does not involve any booms, and road users can get through the payment system without having to slow down.
